Functional Neurologic Symptom Disorder: an emerging complication in the treatment of chronic pain in youth

Panel Discussion

Abstract Description

Functional neurological disorder (FND) refers to presenting symptoms that do not align with known neurologic anatomy or pathology. Complex FND presentations in a young child can often be a challenge requiring multimodal treatment approaches. This is further complicated when patients present with overlapping chronic pain. Dr. Torbey will introduce FND in the pediatric population, will discuss diagnostic procedures and will review the literature regarding the relationship between chronic pain and FND.
