Panel Discussion
This section of the panel will describe disparities in pain assessment and treatment among children from minoritized racial, ethnic and gender-diverse backgrounds. It will explain the role of social determinants of health in pain disparities using a population health framework to describe individual, and environmental risk and protective factors. It will illustrate patient-centered approaches for pain treatment of specific minoritized populations placing emphasis in protective and resilience factors, as well as the role of systems change to better address the needs of a growing diverse pediatric population.
