Poster Abstract

Abstract Description

This poster will provide an overview and preliminary results of a recent systematic review focused on the use of immersive technologies (IT; virtual reality and augmented reality) in the context of pain management. The systematic review was registered with prospero on 02/26/2022 (CRD42022307153). Data presented in this poster represent the studies that have been conducted within pediatric populations (<18 years of age). Data will be presented that highlight the current state of research about demographics of patient populations, types of IT interventions, research designs, and IT intervention targets. Together, presented data represent initial findings for the current evidence on the use of IT in pediatric acute and chronic pain and evidence gaps. The poster will also discuss implications for future research and clinical practice for the use of IT in pediatric pain management.
