Abstract Description

This submission contains details for a protocol of a scoping review aiming to summarize literature on emotion regulation in caregivers of people with chronic pain, including children. Four bibliographic databases will be searched for three concepts (emotion regulation, caregiver, chronic pain) and data will be extracted on the study aims, study population (i.e., chronic pain condition), patient age and relationship to caregiver, methodology, measure and definition of emotion regulation, chronic pain outcome(s), and main study takeaway. We are currently at the planning and data collection stage and preliminary results will be available by the time of the conference. Although part of a scoping review across the lifespan, the presentation will focus on emotion regulation in caregivers of youth with chronic pain.
