Abstract Description

Institution: Newcastle University - Tyne and Wear, United Kingdom

Previous research has found machine learning methods to be useful in the assessment of pain in neonates. The PEACOCK trial is currently recruiting up to 100 preterm neonates that are being recorded under a wider range of procedures than previously captured, ranging from comforting through to discomforting and painful, to assess whether similar deep-learning based methods can automatically detect and assess a wider range of affective states.
