The field of psychogastroenterology has been growing exponentially.  It is a highly evidence driven field with multiple randomized controlled trials in child abdominal pain informing clinical practice. This talk will highlight new insights and novel directions for treatment and understanding of psychosocial factors in abdominal pain. As abdominal pain research has been at the forefront of chronic pain research, many new developments will have implications for the wider field of pediatric pain in the future.
