Abstract Description
This presentation will build on the first by presenting research which incorporated consultation with consumers and clinicians to map available chronic pain assessment tools to the core domains for cerebral palsy. The result is a framework which includes the most meaningful and clinically useful tools. The study mapping methodology will be explained, along with a summary of the most clinically useful and meaningful tools available in each domain. A brief introduction to the COnsenus-based Standards for the evaluation of Health Measurement INstruments (COSMIN) will be provided, which was used to assess the quality of the tools. The interpretability and feasibility of using the tools for people with CP and clinicians was rated using a CP specific clinical utility rating tool, developed from key concepts described in the COSMIN guidelines. The longitudinal case-based scenarios will provide opportunity for participants to identify suitable tools for assessing the domains most pertinent to the cases. Participants will also explore the challenges in applying some of these tools to the cases, including for those with cognitive, communication or mobility impairment.
